We had great fun and met lots of people on the weekend of 9th/10th May 2009.
At the Huddersfield Town Centre Plant Sale on 9th May we were inundated with people interested in starting their own vegetable plot, as well as those willing to give advice on growing from their years of experience.
In Holmfirth on the 10th May, we organised a mass onion planting. The Council gave us permission to plant in the borders underneath the palm trees, and a couple of hundred onion sets were planted by people attending the final day of the Holmfirth Festival of Folk. As well as onion planting, Claire painted faces with onions, strawberries and leeks, and Del juggled onions and anything else he could get his hands on!
